Sembower, 68, of Buffalo Mills RD 1, died in Cumberland Memorial Hospital Sunday morning. Born Sept. 18, 1905, in Markleton, son of the late William Francis and Grace G. Sembower of Rockwood. Survived by mother, wife, Lucy Fritz Sembower; a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Lehman, Buffalo Mills RD 1; a son, Galen, Manassas, Va.; these brothers: Maynard, Harold, Leonard, and William, all of Rockwood; Robert of Salamanca, N.Y.; Harry of Friedens and Ray of Somerset; a sister, Mrs. Sara E. Mullaney of Cumberland, Md.; and three grandchildren. Was a retired schoolteacher, a member of the Hyndman United Church of Christ and a past member of the church consistory; a member of the Hyndman Volunteer Fire Company, of which he was secretary and treasurer for 20 years; and of the Hyndman Rod and Gun Club. Was educated at Shippensburg and California State Colleges. Funeral services Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, Rev. Richard L. Tome officiating. Burial in Schellsburg Cemetery. Friends will be received in the funeral home Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Somerset Bulletin, May 6, 1974 [S0798]
