Sembower, 79, of West Sanner Street, Somerset, died Feb. 15, 1994, in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born Oct. 17, 1915, in Markleton, a son of the late William Francis and Grace (Boyer) Sembower. Preceded in death by parents and these brothers and sisters, Helen Clay, Maurice, Adam, Harold, Leonard, William, Charles and John. Survived by wife, the former Louise Spangler, and these children: Nancy, wife of Gary Shircliff, Cumberland, Md.; Richard A. (Dick) and Brenda Sembower, Girard, Pa.; and Linda (Kay), wife of William Beal Hauger, Acme, Pa.; two grandchildren, Mark A. and Julie M. Sembower; one sister, Sara (John) Mullaney, Cumberland, Md.; and brothers: Maynard (Bud) of Rockwood and Robert E. (Hank) and Harry E. (Nook), both of Somerset. Member of First United Methodist Church, Somerset Volunteer Fire Department, Somerset County and Western Pa. Firemen's associations. Veteran of World War II. Served with the U.S. Air Force. Retired from Somerset County Courthouse in 1983. Was formerly employed at Trent's Market. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Rev. Dr. Arthur J. Gotjen and Rev. Melroy Wirick officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. No viewing at the church. Somerset Volunteer Fire Department will conduct memorial service at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to MNA District 1, JoAnn Hafer Scholarship Fund of Cumberland or the West Springfield United Methodist Church building fund, Albion, Pa., or Friends of Fallingwater.
