Born May 5, 1899, in Somerset. Member and past president of VFW Auxiliary Post 144, Johnstown. Member of the original drill team of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 144. Her hobbies included sewing and quilting. Survived by sons, Earl Sevits Jr., Columbia S.C. and John Sevits, Mentor; daughter, Ina Mae McKenzie, Painesville; sister, Iva Emert, Somerset; half sisters: Hazel Snowman, Somerset; Amanda Bowman, Meyersdale; Thelma Neveling and Martha Cramer, both of Somerset. Twelve grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Earl M. Sevits in 1967; daughters: Betty Hooper and Phyllis Leyden; grandsons, Robert McKenzie Jr. and William Sevits. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, Painsville [sic], with Rev. Gerald D. Kalb of Painesville United Methodist Church officiating.
