  SHAFER
  
  Maude F. Shafer, 83, of Somerset, died Dec. 27, 2001 at her
  residence.  Born Dec. 30, 1917, in Jefferson Twp., she is the
  daughter of the late Harvey D. and Nanna (Brown) Shafer.  Also
  preceded in death by sisters: Ruby E. Shafer and Marian Shafer, and
  brother: Mack W. Shafer.  Survived by friend Betty Foust of
  Somerset.  Member of Somerset Church of the Brethren where she was
  licensed to the ministry.  Retired school teacher, having taught 35
  years in Somerset Area School District.  There will be no viewing or
  visitation.  Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in the
  Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Christner
  officiating.  Interment in Somerset County Memorial Park.
