  Mrs. Ophie M. Shafer, 89, Somerset RD 6, died Sept. 1, 1978, in
  Somerset Community Hospital.  Born Sept. 11, 1888, in Ligonier
  Township, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Wadsworth)
  Dennison.  Preceded in death by her husband, George W. in 1956, and
  six sisters.  Survived by her daughter, Romayne of Somerset RD 6; one
  sister, Mrs. Helen Welshons, Ligonier RD 1; and two brothers, Bryan of
  Derry and Paul of Youngstown, Pa.  Member of the First Christian
  Church of Somerset.  Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Saturday
  at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where funeral services will be
  conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Weber
  officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
