  Russell T. Shafer, 82, Somerset, died Feb. 8, 1988 in Pompano Beach,
  Fla.  Born Dec. 15, 1905 in Turtle Creek, son of the late George and
  Anna Catherine (Bachman) Shafer.  Also preceded by one brother and
  one sister.  Survived by wife, the former Mae Ormrod and these
  children: George R., Somerset, Robert T., Lake Placid, Fla., Mrs.
  James L. (Nancy) Bulow, Albuquerque, N.M., also 10 grandchildren and
  one great-granddaughter.  Brother of Miss Inez Shafer, Turtle Creek
  and Miss Elizabeth Shafer, Monroeville.  Retired advertising
  executive for Westinghouse Air Brake Corp.  Member of St. Paul's
  Presbyterian Church, Valley Lodge 613 F.&A.M. of Turtle Creek and
  33rd Degree Scottish Rite.  Past potentate of Syria Temple,
  Pittsburgh, and various masonic organizations.  Past president
  Wilmerding Rotary Club.  Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday
  at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where service will be held 10:30
  a.m. Friday with Rev. Douglas A. Rehberg officiating.  Interment,
  Somerset County Memorial Park.  Masonic service Thursday at 7 p.m. at
  the funeral home.  Family suggests contributions to the Shriners
  Hospital for Crippled Children.
