  SHAFFER
  
  Almeda Shaffer, 62, Oak Street, Somerset, died April 24, 1985, in
  Somerset Community Hospital.  Born Aug. 15, 1922, in Listie, daughter
  of the late William and Florence (Dayton) Tirko.  Preceded in death by
  parents; husband, Stanley R.; four brothers and two sisters.  Survived
  by daughter, Nancy, wife of Victor J. Latuch, Somerset RD 5; three
  grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters: John Tirko,
  Pulaski, Va.; Joe Tirko, Friedens RD 1; David Tirko, Somerset; Mary
  Bell, and Mildred Landsman, both of Somerset RD 7; Ann Shaffer,
  Elizabeth Derincin, Shirley Drake, and Ella Mae Rubis, all of
  Somerset; Katherine Mickey, High Point, N.C.; Sally Reese, New
  Centerville; and Julia Sellers, Central City.  She attended the
  Somerset Church of the Nazerene.  She was retired from Howard
  Johnson's on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.  Friends will be received
  after 7 p.m. Thursday (today) and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the
  Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where services will be conducted
  Saturday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Paul W. Douglass Sr.
  officiating.  Interment, Husband Cemetery.
