    Ann Shaffer, 78, of Acosta died Aug. 3, 1999, at her residence. 
  Born May 7, 1921, in Ralphton.  She was the daughter of the late John
  and Christina (Remz) Omerzo.  Also preceded in death by children:
  Betty Louise and Terry Lee Shaffer; brothers: John, Frank, James and
  Thomas Omerzo and sister, Mary Mullen.  Survived by husband, Merle K.
  Shaffer Sr., and children: Mrs. William (Shirley) Cober of Somerset
  and Merle K. Shaffer Jr., married to the former Patsy DelSignore, of
  Acosta.  Five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  Sister of
  Louis and Robert Omerzo of Niles, Ohio; Michael Omerzo of Somerset,
  and Donna Gates of Niles, Ohio.  Member of All Saints Catholic Church
  of Acosta.  Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 Thursday in the Robert
  H. Halverson Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m.
  Friday in All Saints Catholic Church, Acosta, Father Martin Breski,
  celebrant.  Committal in the Husband Cemetery.  Vigil for the
  deceased will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
