  SHAFFER
  
  Blanche E. Shaffer, 89, Plank Road, Somerset, died Feb. 18 in
  Somerset Community Hospital.  Born in Berlin, Aug. 15, 1884, a
  daughter of Edward and Ellen Fogle McQuade.  Preceded in death by
  these children: William, George, Edward, Louis, Mrs. Betty Lenhart
  and Quida.  Survived by her husband, Albert, and these children:
  Stanley, Somerset; Albert L., Miami, Fla.; Merle K., Acosta; and
  Fred, Somerset RD 5.  Thirty-four grandchildren, 38
  great-grandchildren, one brother, one sister, Robert McQuade, Berlin,
  and Mrs. Rose Pollord, Miami, Fla.  Her death ends a marriage union of
  71 years, as of Feb. 8.  Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Tuesday
  in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted
  Thursday at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Ronald L. Peoples officiating. 
  Interment, Husband Cemetery.
