  SHAFFER
  
    Carl D. Shaffer, 69, Pine Crest Boulevard, Johnstown, formerly of
  Somerset, died at home Dec. 18, 1997.  He was the son of Millard S.
  and Jean (Louder) Shaffer.  Preceded in death by parents and wife,
  the former Mary Pucci, who died in 1988.  Retired from Somerset
  County Public Assistance Office where he worked in the fuel
  assistance department.  Formerly employed by Acme Markets in
  Somerset.  He was a Navy veteran.  Will be sadly missed by friends
  and special friend Cindy Quick.  No viewing or receiving of
  friends.  Arrangements by George E. Mason Funeral Homes, Inc.,
  Davidsville.
