  Carrie K. Shaffer, 88, of 520 Clark St., Hooversville, died March 19,
  1987, at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown.  Born Jan. 25, 1899, in
  Quemahoning Township, daughter of John and Minerva (Penrod)
  Gindlesperger.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Harry J.;
  brothers, Foster and William; and sisters, Elsie Shaver and Jenny
  Shaffer.  Survived by these sons: Clair W., married to the former
  Florence A. Shaffer, Stoystown RD 2; Gerald H., married to the former
  Mary Alice Jock, of Holly, Mich.; Dr. Lowell D., married to the former
  Barbara Witt, of Davidsville; eight grandchildren; and seven
  great-grandchildren.  Former Quemahoning Township and Hooversville
  teacher.  Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville.  Family
  will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
  p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville.  Viewing from 10
  a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church,
  Pastor Gerald L. Myers officiating.  Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery,
  Stoystown.
