  CHARLES V. SHAFFER
  
    Charles Victor Shaffer, 83, of Wellersburg, died Monday, Aug. 15,
  1988, at his home.
    Born Jan. 25, 1905, at Wellersburg, he was the son of the late
  Frank Percy and Mark [sic]
  
  
   Jane (Knepp) Shaffer.  His wife, Virginia Rosa (Conaway) Shaffer,
  preceded him in death.
    He was a retired painter; was a member of the United Church of
  Christ and the Wellersburg Senior Citizens.
    He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Eleanor Cassen, of Wellersburg.
    Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday
  at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, where services will be
  conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday by the Rev. Charles Lady.  Interment
  will be in the Rest Lawn Memorial Garden.
