  SHAFFER
  
    D. Fern Shaffer, 76, 730 Bloom St., formerly of Schrader Ave., died
  June 13, 1998, at Patriot Manor, Somerset.  Daughter of the late
  Albert J. and Stella A. (Coy) Garretson.  Preceded in death by
  husband, Harry B.  Survived by sons, H. James, married to Barbara J.
  (Johnson) of Somerset, and John B., married to Becky (Coolbaugh) of
  Windber; also grandson, James B. Shaffer and 4 other grandchildren
  and 9 great-grandchildren.  Member of the First Evangelical
  Congregational Church, VonLunen Road and Golde Street; the Dale,
  Oakland, Cambria Co. Fireman's Association Ladies Auxiliaries, Police
  Chiefs Auxiliary, and the Oakland Garden Club.  Memorial service to be
  held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Evangelical Congregational
  Church, Pastor Cris Lewis.  Interment, Headrick's Cemetery. 
  Arrangements by Geisel Funeral Home, 734 Bedford Street, Dale.  In
  lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
