  Daniel J. "Cork" Shaffer, 74, of Hooversville, died Sept. 19, 2003 at
  home.  Born Dec. 22, 1928 in Hooversville, a son of Earl and Verdean
  (Snyder) Shaffer. Preceded by parents and stepmother, Theresa (Szoke)
  Donahue-Shaffer.  Survived by his wife of 27 years, Judy (Adams)
  Lockett-Shaffer; children, Rick, married to the former Paula Sigmund
  of Cannonsburg, Kim, married to Don Gauronski of Riverside, Calif.,
  Gretchen of Hamburg, Brooke and friend William McCombie and Mike
  Lockett and friend Missy Hinson, all of Hooversville; grandchildren,
  Bridgette Davis, Wendy Stafford, Matthew, Daniel and Suzanne Shaffer,
  Melanie Boyer, Eddie Gauronski, George and Karly Neuhof, Christopher
  Gisbrecht and Kelly Hinson; and great-grandchildren, Jason and Corey
  Shaffer, Matthew and Emma Boyer, Madison and Ricki Stafford, Max and
  Gillian Davis.  Brother of Jack, and Jan Dick, married to the former
  Anna Marie Zeglin, both of Stoystown.  Also survived by numerous
  nieces and nephews.  Retired from Daniel Shaffer's Inc. of
  Hooversville.  Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville. 
  Charter member of Hooversville Lions Club and social member of V.F.W.
  Post 155, Hooversville.  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7
  to 9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville, where a Lions
  service will be held at 8:30 p.m.  Memorial service will be held at
  11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville.  No viewing
  at the church.  Rev. Gerald L. Myers officiating.  Private interment
  at the convenience of the family in P.O.S. of A. Cemetery,
  Hooversville.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to
  Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville, Pa. 15936.
