  SHAFFER
  
  Daniel Lee Shaffer, 20, of Confluence, died Feb. 9, 2003 in Ursina as
  a result of an auto accident.  He was born May 27, 1982 in Meyersdale,
  a son of Edward L. Hoffman of Berlin and the late Mary Etta Shaffer. 
  In addition to his father, he is survived by sisters Angela Dawn
  Shaffer and her fiance John Pelar and Ashley Shaffer all of Berlin, a
  brother Brian Shaffer of Garrett, foster mother Joyce Porterfield of
  Confluence and several foster brothers and sisters.  He previously
  attended Turkeyfoot Valley High School, and Somerset Technology
  Center.  He was currently employed as a lift operator at Hidden
  Valley.  Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the
  Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence where a service will be held at 11
  a.m. Thursday with Rev. Duane Riddle officiating.  Interment Pine
  Hill Cemetery, Berlin.
