Shaffer, 86, of Allegheny Lutheran Home, Johnstown, formerly of 285 Barn St., Hooversville, died Jan. 28, 1987, at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born Nov. 5, 1900, in Hooversville, son of Daniel and Bertha (Hamer) Shaffer. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, the former G. Verdean Snyder; sisters, Verna, Helen Wagner and Erma Jackson; brothers, Harold G. and D. Dwight. Survived by his wife, the Former Theresa Donahue; and these sons: Jack B., married to Ann Marie Zeglin, both of Stoystown RD 2; Daniel J. "Cork", married to Judith Adams, Hooversville; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Brother of: Warren Sr. and Blanche, both of Hooversville; Frances, Allegheny Lutheran Home, Johnstown; stepchildren: Robert A. Donahue, married to Margaret Yuhas, Davidsville; Mrs. Sheldon (Anna Mary) Corley, Manns Choice; Mrs. Stanley (Patricia) Dohoda, Seward; Theresa Donahue, Palo Alto, Calif.; Leonard, married to Karen Sharp, Torrance, Calif.; Thomas Donahue, married to Whitney Jones, Austin, Texas; Dennis Donahue, married to Mary Ann Mitchell, Imperial, Mo.; and Hubert Donahue, married to Gretchen Koontz, Berlin; and 17 step-grandchildren. Vice president and general manager of Daniel Shaffer Inc., Hooversville. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville, Somerset Lodge F&AM, and TCL of Johnstown. A charter member of the Hooversville Lions Club. Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Deaner Duneral Home, Hooversville. Remains will be moved to Trinity Lutheran Church for viewing from 10 a.m. to services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, the Rev. Gerald L. Myers and Rev. Harold N. Biller officiating.
