Edgewood Ave., Somerset, died Jan. 25, 1981, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born May 26, 1893, in Windber, son of the late John Henry and Julia (Lehman) Shaffer. Preceded in death by his wife, Elda, in 1974; one son, Lehman; two brothers; and two sisters. Survived by a daughter-in-law, Ruth Barron of Somerset; one grandson, James Shaffer of Lewisburg, Pa.; and two grandchildren. A retired Baltimore and Ohio Railroad conductor with 47 years service. Member of Grace United Methodist Church; FOE of Somerset; JOUAM; and United Transportation Union. Friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.; the Rev. Theodore Cole officiating. Interment, St. John's Cemetery. Daily American, January 27, 1981 [S0881]
