Shaffer, 69, of 1508 Oldtown Road, Oldtown Manor Apts., Cumberland, Md., died Nov. 18, 1981, at Cumberland Memorial Hospital. Born March 11, 1912, in Blane, W. Va., daughter of the late Benjamin and Bertie (Iser) Day. Member of Central Assembly of God Church. Survived by husband, Walter J.; three sons, James H. Shaffer of Hendersonville, Tenn.; Ronald R. Shaffer of College Park, Md.; and Vernon D. Shaffer of Forest City, N.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Elaine Mullin, Short Gap, W. Va.; and Mrs. Carol Woolbert, Cardiff, N.J.; two brothers, Robert Day and Melvin Lee Day, both of Somerset; four sisters, Mrs. Elaine Phillips and Mrs. Alice Lobefalo, both of Somerset; and Mrs. Nellie Kaley, Pittsburgh; and Mrs. Edna Baker, Worthington, W.Va.; 21 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Md., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, the Rev.
