    Elizabeth Mae "Lizzie" Shaffer, 88, Hollsopple, went to be with her husband and Lord
  June 3, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 15, 1923, in Hollsopple, daughter of
  Berton Gerald and Sadie (Pugh) Lambert. Preceded in death by parents, brother, Berton
  Gerald and husband, Percy J. Shaffer. Survived by these children: Bonnie, wife of the
  Rev. Larry Stewart, Meyersdale; Berton, married to the former Susan Skiles, Davidsville;
  Grant "Tiny," married to the former Carol Spicher, Ogletown; 12 grand-children and 13
  great-grand-children. Sister of Goldie Nichols, Minnie Hoffman and Grant Lewis "Lew"
  Lambert and the Rev. Richard Lambert, all of Hollsopple. She was a member of the
  Hollsopple Apostolic Gospel Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. She retired
  from J.C. & Me Sewing Factory, Pretoria and Hollsopple and a former president of the
  Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She was a charter member of the Connumach Lioness Club,
  where she served on the board of directors. She was a volunteer for St. Francis Caring &
  Sharing for six years. She lovingly cared for Aaron and Glenna Putyrski as if they were
  her own grandchildren. Family receiving friends from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at George E.
  Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The
  Rev. Donald Zeek and the Rev. Larry Stewart officiating. The Connumach Lioness will hold
  a memorial service at 6 p.m.. Interment, Custer Cemetery. Those who wish can make
  contribution to the Hollsopple Apostolic Gospel Church or the Connumach Lioness Club.
