  ELVIE SHAFFER
  
    Elvie Reid Shaffer, 80, of New Castle, formerly of Confluence, died
  May 21, 1977, in New Castle.  She was born September 8, 1896, in
  Confluence, a daughter of the late Emerson and Ella (Nicklow) Younkin.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul.
    She is survived by these children: Kermit J. Reid, Confluence;
  Robert R. Reid, Point Marion; Dane R. Reid, York; Frances E. Hiles,
  Katherine DeSatnik, and Emerson A. Reid, all of New Castle, 12
  grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren, one
  great-great-grandchild, and a brother, Wilbert Younkin, Pittsburgh.
    Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Humbert Funeral Home
  with Rev. C. Q. Bonnel officiating.  Interment, Kingwood IOOF
  Cemetery.
