  SHAFFER
  
  Ethel M. Shaffer, 64, of East Main Street, Somerset, died Dec. 2,
  1977, in Somerset Community County on March 12, 1913, a daughter of
  Ross and Bertha (Shaffer) Trent.  She was preceded in death by her
  parents and husband, George.  She is survived by these children:
  James Reed, Annandale, Va.; a daughter, Miss Bertha Shaffer,
  Somerset; three grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Trent,
  Export.  She was a member of the Brotherton Church of the Brethren. 
  Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Monday in the Robert H.
  Halverson Funeral Home where services will be conducted Tuesday at
  1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Owen Preston officiating.  Interment, Wills
  Church Cemetery.
