  SHAFFER
  
    Mrs. Fanny M. Shaffer, 80, of Listie, died June 30, 1978, at her
  residence.  Born Sept. 20, 1897, in Listie, a daughter of the late
  George and Mary Jane (Stutzman) Trent.  Preceded in death by her
  husband, Millard, in 1968, two sons and a sister.  Survived by these
  children: Dorothy, at home; Mrs. Mary Jane Gauntz and Mrs. Rebecca
  Miller, both of York; Jack and George, both of Somerset RD 7; 13
  grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  Sister of Mrs. Nettie
  Palmer of Groton, Conn.  Member of Listie, Brethren Church.  Friends
  will be received after 2 p.m. Saturday in the Wilbur D. Miller
  Funeral Home until 10 a.m. Monday when her remains will be removed to
  the Listie Brethren Church to lie in state until time of service at 11
  a.m., the Rev. Larry Weigle and the Rev. Stephen Margush,
  officiating.  Interment, Listie Cemetery.
