Born May 4, 1932, in Stoystown, son of Harry and Mary (Maxwell) Shaffer. Preceded in death by parents; sisters: Violet Deist, Marie Shaffer and Leona Felesky and brother, Harry. Survived by these sisters and brother: Ida Custer, Davidsville, Blanche Emert, Los Angeles, Calif., Myrtle Smith, Price, Utah, Anna Eash, Jerome, Jennie Mutz, Waterford, Mich., Agnes Shaffer, El Monte, Calif. and Don Shaffer, Davidsville. Also survived by a loving niece, Caroline Felesky, Boswell and numerous other nieces and nephews. Graduate of Quemahoning-Stoystown High School. Korean War Army veteran where he served as a corporal in the military police. Retired custodian from North Star School District. Member of Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown, and Robert P. Hite Post 257 American Legion, Stoystown. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where a Legion service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Viewing also from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown.
