  SHAFFER
  
    Fred B. Shaffer, 84, Winter Haven, Fla., died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998,
  at Winter Haven Hospital.  Born in Jenner Township, Feb. 21, 1914.  He
  moved to Winter Haven from Somerset, 16 years ago.  He was a teacher
  in the North Star School District, past president of Somerset Borough
  Council, past president of Somerset Country Club.  Member of Somerset
  Masonic Lodge No. 358; Jaffa Temple, Altoona; the Harrisburg
  Consistory AASR; and BPOE No. 1951, Marsdale.  He was a member of
  Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset.  Survived by his wife, Kathryn C.
  Shaffer of Winter Haven; three sons, Ronald Shaffer, Berea, Ky.;
  Thomas Shaffer, Johnson City, N.Y. and Frederick Shaffer, Bowie, Md.;
  daughter, Constance Smith, Saverna Park, Md.; nine grandchildren and
  four great-grandchildren.  Memorial service at 2 p.m., Thursday, in
  the Trinity Lutheran Church Chapel, Somerset.
