  SHAFFER
  
  Gary J. Shaffer, 82, of Plank Road, Stoystown, died Sept. 30, 2003 at
  Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.  Born May 27, 1921 in Quemahoning
  Township, son of Wilbert C. and Toylie Z. (Snyder) Shaffer.  Preceded
  in death by his parents and a brother Glenn.  Survived by his wife of
  49 years, the former Mildred Engle formerly of Rockwood; children: 
  Connie married to Theodore Szapka, Hollsopple, Gary married to the
  former Joselyn Philip, Stoystown, Judy married to John Krause,
  Sipesville, Tracey Chirico and fiance Timothy M. Luther Stoystown,
  Joan married to David Stanley II, Richland; grandchildren:  Jamie,
  Wesley, Brandon and Desiree Shaffer, Elizabeth, Marissa and Amanda
  Krause, Ashley and Anthony Chirico and Mary Stanley,
  step-granddaughter, Lisa (Szapka) Alumbaugh, step-great-grandson
  Chase Alumbaugh; brother of Joan Shaffer, Stoystown, Janet Taylor,
  Beaver Falls, Emma (Hay) Costa, Windber, Robert Hay, Grantsville, Md.
  and numerous nieces and nephews.  A 1941 graduate of Penn State
  University, life long dairy farmer, devoted and active member of
  Hooversville Church of the Brethren.  He enjoyed his family and
  especially his grandchildren.  Family will receive friends from 2 to
  4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown and from
  10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Friday at Hooversville Church of the
  Brethren with Rev. Harry W. Bassett officiating.  Interment Berkey
  Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be given to Hooversville Church
  of the Brethren, Hooversville, Pa. 15936.  The family would like to
  thank all the Healthcare professionals and friends for their love and
  support.
