  SHAFFER
  
  George E. Shaffer, 79, Somerset RD 2, died Aug. 29, 1985, at Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born April 11, 1907, in Somerset Township, he was
  a son of the late Michael and Annie (Darr) Shaffer.  He was also
  preceded in death by five brothers and a half-brother.  Survived by
  his wife, the former Mary B. Fitzgerald, and these children, Mrs.
  Telford (Joan M.) Boyer, Lee Summit, Mo.; William B., married to
  Shirley Miller, Friedens RD 2; and Robert A., married to Nancy
  Ramsell, Friedens RD 2; 12 grandchildren and four
  great-grandchildren.  He was a brother of Mrs. Edith Barnhart,
  Millersburg; Mrs. Horace (Mary) Sheavley, Berlin; Fred K., Somerset
  RD 2; and Mrs. Alma Mull, Fair Oaks, Calif.  He was a member of the
  Sipesville Church of the Brethren, FOE, and the Teamsters Union.  He
  was retired Cooper-Jarrett driver.  Friends will be received from 2-4
  and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home where
  service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Blair
  Harshbarger.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
