"PUD" SHAFFER My Lord and Savior has called me, George R. "Pud" Shaffer home on May 24, 2004. Born June 21, 1936, in Listie, he is the son of Millard and Fanny Mae (Trent) Shaffer. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leila M. Shaffer; sisters, Dorothy, Mary Jane and Rebecca, and brother, Glenn. He is survived by sons, Daniel E. Smith and friend Ruth Lucca, Stewart W. Shaffer, married to the former Gail Stone, and Steven Shaffer and friend Cindy Livengood. He has 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Jack Shaffer, married to the former Alice DePhillips, Somerset, and sister-in-law Pat Shaffer, Listie. He was a truck driver for 40 years in capacities ranging from local deliveries to coast to coast transports. In the past six to seven years he bought and sold groceries to people who were unable to move about or who just wanted a better deal on groceries. He attended Old Bethel Church in Markleton. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. A service will be held at Old Bethel Church at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev.
