"Froggy" Shaffer, 46, of Main Street, Seanor, died Aug. 24, 1998, at home. Born July 1, 1952, in Johnstown, son of Calvin J. and Dorothy L. (Swope) Shaffer. Preceded in death by infant daughter, Melissa Sue, and sister-in-law, Jean (Rummel) May. Survived by parents, Pine Crest Estates, Johnstown RD; wife, the former Twila M. Rummel; daughter, Lori, wife of Steven Mowers, Johnstown RD, and sisters: Stella "Chris," wife of Charles Salsgiver, Windber, and Robin M. "Bird," wife of John Conzatti, Hollsopple. Also survived by mother-in-law, Mary M. Rummel, Seanor; father-in-law, James Rummel, Hooversville; Brothers-in-law, James Rummel, married to Catherine Bass, Hagerstown, Md.; Robert Rummel, married to Gloria Waldron, Latrobe; Edward Rummel and fiance, Linda Lechak, Johnstown RD, and numerous other relatives and friends. 1971 graduate of North Star High School. Member of Jenner Rod and Gun Club and Stoystown Sons of American Legion. Attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. Formerly employed at B. J. Maurer Ford. Currently employed as maintenance supervisor for Windber Recreation Association. Jerry and his wife had been active participants with several area Gospel groups. Friends received from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Ray Streets Jr. officiating.
