    Gladys V. (Thomas) Shaffer, 92, Boswell RD 1, died the evening of
  Oct. 2, 1993, at Laurel View Village.  Born Aug. 15, 1901, in
  Conemaugh Township, daughter of Silas and Lydia (Howard) Thomas. 
  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Clarence L. in 1976; daughter,
  Esther N. Blough, July 29, 1993; these brothers and sisters, Annie
  Sala, Olive Gindlesperger, Linnie Hershberger, Cadilla Eash, Irvin
  Blough, Steven Blough and Maggie Sipe.  Survived by daughter, Grace,
  wife of Ralph Weaver, Boswell RD 1, and son, Richard Blaine, married
  to the former Betty Good, Hollsopple RD 2; two grandchildren, Cindy
  Gehlman and Russell Weaver; two great-grandchildren, Michael and
  Andrew Gehlman, and son-in-law, Vernon Blough, Boswell RD 1.  Member
  of Thomas Mennonite Church.  Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
  p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell. 
  Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at
  the Thomas Mennonite Church, Revs. Homer E. Schrock and Aldus
  Wingard.  Interment, church cemetery.
