  Goldie Mae (Fisher) Shaffer, 72, Somerset, passed on June 24, 2005, at Somerset
  Hospital. Born Dec. 12, 1932, in Fayette County, she is the daughter of the late
  John Harold and Lula Mae (Stahl) Fisher. She is preceded in death by her
  parents; sister, Emily Fisher; brothers, Samuel and Wilbur Fisher; and
  grandsons, Patrick Shaffer and Nikles J. Gaal. She is survived by her husband
  of 35 years, Lewis R. Shaffer Sr., Somerset; children, Cherry Benedict and
  Lewis Shaffer Jr., both of Somerset; grandson John E. Gaal; granddaughter
  Rebecca Kenyon; seven great-grandchildren; and these brothers and sisters:
  John, married to Janet (Darr) Fisher, Sipesville; Emogene Zerfoss, Friedens;
  Nora Close, Roytown; James, married to Nancy (Ream) Fisher, Jennerstown;
  Genevieve Hoffman, Somerset, Doris, married to Cecil Friese, Chambersburg;
  Harold, married to Dorothy (Duppstadt) Fisher, Somerset; and Eldin Fisher,
  Normalville. She was employed by Somerset Hospital for 35 years, where she was
  named employee of the year. She was a member of Mount Nebo Church of God.
  Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at
  Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
  The Rev. Timothy Show and the Rev. Robert Stahl officiating. Interment at
  Somerset County Memorial Park.
