  SHAFFER
  
  Harvey S. Shaffer, 77, of Markelton RD 1, died July 26, 1981, in his
  home.  Born Feb. 1, 1904, in Pleasant Hill, Somerset County, son of
  Cyrus and Catherine (Thomas) Shaffer.  Survived by his wife, Estella
  (Faidley) Shaffer, Markleton RD 1; one son, Ray Donald, Markleton RD
  1; one stepson, Merle Vough, Markleton RD 1; these foster children: 
  Gary Hughes, Boston, Mass.; James Gunder, El Paso, Texas; Pauline
  Marvin, Burlington, Vt.; Debbie Gunder, Markleton RD 1; and Marvin
  Sanner, Friedens; eight grandchildren; and seven
  great-grandchildren.  Member of Middlecreek Church of the Brethren. 
  Friends will be received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home,
  Rockwood, from 7-9 p.m. Monday, and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday,
  where services will be conducted Wednesday, at 1:30 p.m.  Interment
  will follow at Kingwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
