  SHAFFER
  
  Hubert G. Shaffer, 78, Maple Mountain Manor, Berlin, formerly of
  Somerset, died March 3, 1988, in Somerset Community Hospital.  Born
  Oct. 30, 1909, in Brothersvalley Township, son of the late John and
  Elizabeth (Meyers) Shaffer.  Preceded in death by parents; his wife,
  Emma Zerfoss; and one brother, Clark.  Survived by one son, Wilbur,
  married to former Janet Glass, Somerset RD 7; three grandchildren,
  William, Sandy and Sussie; two sisters: Eva (Zearfoss) Lape,
  Somerset; and Goldie Thomas, Garrett.  He was a member of the Church
  of the Brethren, Somerset.  Friends will be received 4-9 p.m.
  Saturday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where service will be
  conducted Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Roger Forry
  officiating.  Interment, Brotherton Cemetery.
