SHAFFER Ida Almeda Shaffer, 93, Church of the Brethren Home, Scalp Level, formerly of Graham Avenue, Windber, died Aug. 3, 1987, at the home. She was born Nov. 19, 1893, in Paint Township, daughter of late Samuel and Ellen (Statler) Lehman. She was preceded in death by husband, Alonza E.; son, Clair; sisters, Effie, Norma, Ella, Thelma, Fern and Laura; and brothers, William, Hobert, Dewey, John, Dean and Oscar. She is survived by children: Alpha, wife of Kenneth Weaver; A. Ray, married to former Pearl Bowser; Samuel Boyd, married to former Burdella Young; Ellen, wife of Wayne Adkins, Camp Hill; Doris Berkey, wife of Duane Metzger; and Betty, wife of Alvin Miller, Auburn, N.Y.; also 21 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren. She was a sister of Samuel Lehman, Geistown and Bertha Weyant, Berlin. She was a member of Windber Church of the Brethren. Friends were received at The Shank-Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Inc., Windber, where services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Revs. Keith Simmons and Millard Weaver, officiating.
