  Ira A. Shaffer, "Jack", 80, of Stoystown, died Jan. 18, 1975, in
  Somerset Community Hospital.  Born August 16, 1894, in Somerset
  County, son of Henry and Martha (Brubaker) Shaffer.  Preceded in
  death by his parents, eight brothers and five sisters.  Survived by
  his nephew, Clarence Witt Jr., Phoenix, Ariz.  Brother of Mrs. Ada
  Fulton, Stoystown; Mrs. Verda Lohr, Johnstown; and Cloyd,
  Hooversville RD 1.  Retired coal miner and member of Jenner Local
  1742 UMWA; member of Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown; Stoystown
  Lodge IOOF; Stoystown Lions Club and the Junior Order of United
  American Mechanics.  Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
  Tuesday in the Charles R. Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where
  service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Herbert G.
  Hohman officiating.  Interment Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown.
