Shaffer, a prominent Jenner Township farmer, died at 8:30 Wednesday morning, following a brief illness of pneumonia. He was a son of the late Adam B. and Eliza Maurer Shaffer and is survived by his wife, Anna Barnett Shaffer, and three children, Naomi, Emily and Anna, all at home. Surviving brothers and sisters are: Dr. Charles I. Shaffer, of Ralphton; Edward Shaffer, of Johnstown; Rev. David Shaffer, a minister of the Lutheran Church, of Martinsburg, Pa.; Mrs. Alvin Barnett, of Jenner Township; Mrs. Anna Baker, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. C. E. Thomas, of Johnstown and Mrs. C. E. Nagle, of Davidsville. Funeral services will be held at the bereaved home at 2:30 Friday afternoon. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery at Jennerstown. Undertaker C. R. Hauger, of Somerset, is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Meyersdale Republican, February 19, 1931
