  SHAFFER
  
    James R. Shaffer, 60, Central City, formerly of Somerset, died Oct.
  2, 1994, in Somerset Hospital.  Born April 29, 1934, in Somerset
  County, son of Hazel Painter, Central City, and the late Andrew
  Shaffer.  Also preceded in death by infant son.  Also survived by
  these children: Joy Roxann and James Shaffer, Somerset; Debra Vaughn,
  Brenda Nace, Karen Shaffer, Leann Harris and Bonnie Piefer, all of
  York; Donna Emrick and Richard Shaffer, Boswell; Lisa Hafer, Hanover;
  and Randy and Tammy Shaffer, Stoystown; 19 grandchildren and these
  brothers and sisters: Audra Glessner, Central City; Ellen DeWitt,
  Perry County; Ronald Shaffer, Manheim; Ruth Swartz, Harrisburg; Roger
  Shaffer, Conneaut, Ohio; Linda Shaffer, Washington; Evelyn Shaffer,
  Davidsville, and Barry Shaffer, Ashtabula, Ohio.  Friends received
  from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in
  Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at
  10 a.m. Thursday, Rev. Ronzil Jarvis.  Interment, Listie Cemetery.
