  Joann S. (Ribblett) Shaffer, 77, Rolling Hill Road, Boswell R.D.,
  died Oct. 5, 2004, at Somerset Hospital.  Born Feb. 27, 1927, in East
  Taylor Township, Cambria County, daughter of Hiram and Lucy (Hunt)
  Ribblett.  Preceded in death by parents; sister, Ruth Britton; and
  infant brother, Charles Ribblett.  Survived by husband of 57 years,
  William W. Jr.; children Robert F., married to the former Linda
  Coldren, Downingtown; Charles H., Boswell R.D.; and Peggy L. Shaffer,
  Somerset; grandchildren Brian, Kevin, Todd, Hiram and Rebecca;
  great-grandchildren, Branden, Zachary and Abbigael; sisters, Ora Mae
  Gillespie, Harrisburg; Mildred Aughinbaugh and Betty Lou Wainwright,
  both of Johnstown; and Doris Tomlinson, Ligonier; and brothers
  William and Theodore Ribblett, both of Johnstown.  Member of Mount
  Laurel United Church of Christ, near Gray, and Trinity Chapter 138,
  Order of the Eatern Star, Somerset.  A three-year resident of Siemon
  Lakeview Manor Estate, Somerset.  Loving wife, mother, grandmother and
  homemaker.  Friends received from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hoffman
  Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where a service will be held at 2
  p.m. Friday.  The Rev. Dr. Joseph M. Beer officiating.  Interment St.
  James Cemetery.
