  SHAFFER
  
    John Henry Shaffer, 84, Whistler Road, Stoystown, died Oct. 5,
  1999, at Somerset Hospital.  Born April 15, 1915, in Stoystown, son
  of Homer and Jenny (Gindlesperger) Shaffer.  Preceded in death by
  parents, brothers: Roy, Robert, Fred and Paul Shaffer and sister,
  Myrtle Zimmerman.  Survived by his wife of 58 years, the former
  Madeline M. Meyers, and these children: Nancy L., married to Raymond
  A. Jock Sr., Middletown; Larry P., married to the former Patricia H.
  Harder, Johnstown; Norma K., Falls Church, Va. and Scott, married to
  the former Virginia Kelly, Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren: Raymond
  A. Jock Jr., Thomas John, Katherine and Alexandra Shaffer.  Brother of
  Carl, Akron, Ohio; Donald, Hooversville; Lois Litzinger, Johnstown;
  Verna Boyer, Hooversville, and Helen Darr, Meyersdale.  He was a
  life-time member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local
  1419.  No visitation or viewing.  Memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday
  at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, with the Rev. Ralph G. Landis
  officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.  Instead of
  flowers, contributions may be given to Otterbein United Methodist
  Church, Stoystown, PA. 15563.
