  John M. Shaffer, 21, of 339 Somerset St., Jerome, dead on arrival
  July 9, 1979, at Somerset Community Hospital, result of auto accident
  near Jerome.  Born May 18, 1958, in Johnstown, son of John E. and
  Patsy R. (Hay) Shaffer.  Preceded in death by paternal grandfather,
  Lester Shaffer, and maternal grandfather, James Hay.  Survived by
  parents, Jerome; brother, Bruce E., at home; maternal grandmother,
  Mary Hay, Jerome; and paternal grandmother, Ruth Shaffer, Hollsopple
  RD 2.  Engaged to Nancy Borelle.  Member of Jerome Lutheran Church
  and employee of Somerset Foundry.  Friends received from 7-9 p.m.
  Tuesday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Joseph H. Hoffman
  Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell.  Funeral service 11 a.m.
  Thursday at Jerome Lutheran Church, the Rev. George A. Clark. 
  Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery.
