  JOHN V. SHAFFER
  
    John V. Shaffer, 69, formerly of Meyersdale, died July 5, 1981, in
  a Turlock, California hospital, following an extended illness.
    A native of Maryland, he moved to Turlock in 1946 and made his home
  there until his death.  He is survived by his wife, Ruth Shaffer, of
  Turlock; two sons, Pat Shaffer, of Turlock and John Shaffer, of
  Pleasanton; and two grandchildren.  He was a member of Sacred Heart
  Church, Turlock; the Turlock Nifty-Fifty Club, and the Elks Club, of
  Modesto.
    Funeral services were held at the Allen Mortuary.  Interment,
  Turlock Memorial Park.
    The family requests that rememberances be given in his name to the
  hospice of Emanuel Hospital, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
