  June Eleanor Shaffer, 83, of Somerset, died Dec. 21, 2003 at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born June 15, 1920 in Mount Morris, a son of Bruce and
  Laura Donna (Cooper) Reckner.  Preceded in death by husband, Delver
  Franklin Shaffer who died Dec. 20, 1970; brothers, Frank, Bruce and
  Gilbert Reckner; sisters, Hazel May and Alice Reckner.  Survived by:
  children, Donald R. Shaffer, married to the former Joyce Weigle of
  Somerset, Mrs. Jacob R. (Joyce A.) Hetzer of Somerset and Delver F.
  Shaffer Jr. of Somerset; grandchildren, Mark A. Hetzer and wife Penny
  of Lambertsville, Becky A. Gergerich of Pittsburgh, Donald F. Shaffer
  of Somerset, Mrs. Alan (Brenda) Fike of Somerset, Douglas Shaffer and
  wife Wendy of Somerset, Cheryl L. Jimmo of Somerset, Mrs. Kevin
  (Cindy) Kreider of Graham, N.C., Mrs. Joseph (Susan) Caldrone of
  Somerset, Mrs. Bradley (Mary) Dickey of Listie, and Misty D. Shaffer
  of Somerset; and 13 great-grandchildren.  Sister of Mrs. Rosie
  Purbaugh of Casselman, Mrs. James (Phyllis) Emerick of Rockwood, Carl
  Edward Reckner of Rochester and Charles Heining Jr. of Casselman. 
  Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.  She was an Avon lady
  for 30 years.  Also retired in 1989 as an assembler for Gilmour Mfg.
  Co. with 13 years of service.  Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to
  9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset where
  service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.  The Rev. Dr.
  Herbert R. Hicks officiating.  Interment, Weller Cemetery.
