Born Oct. 16, 1922 in Lincoln Township, son of Clarence William and Maggie Viola (Weighley) Shaffer. Preceded in death by parents; first wife Arlene Vivian (Miller) Shaffer who died Jan. 30, 1988; brother William E. Shaffer; and sister, Catherine C. Shaffer. Survived by second wife, Naomi Ruth (Bungard)-Cramer-Shaffer; daughter, Mrs. Kurt (Lucinda) Walker of Somerset; stepson, Larry D. Bungard of Fort Hill; one grandson, Daniel E. Walker; three stepgrandsons, Nicholas, Nathan and Noah Bungard. Brother of Elwood L. Shaffer of Somerset, Mrs. Mahlon (Eleanor) Groff of Seven Valleys, and Clarence W. Shaffer of Dallastown. Member of Geiger Church of the Brethren. A 1941 graduate of Somerset Township High School. A World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. Member of American Legion Post 181. Retired truck driver for Somerset Milling Co. for over 35 years. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Gerald E. Deffenbaugh officiating.
