    Luella P. Shaffer, 91, Friedens, died Dec. 24, 2007, at Shaffer's Countryside Assisted
  Living. Born July 30, 1916, in Friedens, the daughter of Ross and Lucy (Hensel) Pile.
  Preceded in death by parents, husband Harold E. "Bud" Shaffer, brothers: Wayne, Wilbert,
  Leo, Roy and Gene Pile. Survived by these children: David Scott, Meyersdale, Bonnie
  married to George Baer, Somerset, and Ross married to the former Ruth Hersch of Friedens;
  grandchildren: Sherry Ash, Terri Glessner, Susan Meier, Lisa Harris, Drew, Wes, and Hannah
  Shaffer; and nine great-grandchildren. Sister of Althea Lutz, Somerset and Robert Pile,
  Friedens. A graduate of Somerset Township High School and the first Teachers Aide in
  Somerset School District. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church and the Fifty-five
  Speeders. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Friedens
  Lutheran Church where a service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Edward V. DeVore
  officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be given
  to Friedens Lutheran Church Community Ministry Center Fund, 131 S. Main St., Friedens, PA
