  Mabel V. Shaffer, 78, of Jennerstown, formerly of Somerset, died Aug.
  29, 1988, at Maple Mountain Manor, Berlin.  Born Feb. 5, 1910, in Pine
  Flatts, Indiana County, daughter of the late Edward Haze and Eva Mae
  (Widdowson) Williams.  Preceded by her husband, Edward J. Shaffer; a
  grandson, Brian Sechler; a brother, Clyde; and a sister, Florence. 
  Survived by these children: Edward L., Jennerstown; Mrs. Calvin (Anna
  Mae) Sechler, Niles, Ohio; George G., Annaheim [sic], Calif.; Mrs.
  Leland G. (Marilyn) Brant, Friedens RD 1; and Telford M., Colona,
  Ill.; also, 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.  Sister of
  Mrs. Grace Bagley, Atlanta, Ga.; Mrs. Goss (Mildred) Lutman, Akron,
  Ohio; William E., Clymer RD 2; and Mrs. Russell (Mary) Lydic,
  Trafford, Pa.  Member of Sipesville Church of the Brethren and the
  Seventh Society of Farm Women.  Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
  Tuesday (today) at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home where service will
  be held 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Max A. DeArmey officiating. 
  Interment, Sipesville Cemetery.
