  MABEL D. SHAFFER
  
    Mabel D. Shaffer, 79, formerly of Garden Terrace Apartments, died
  Jan. 23, 1986, at Laurel Crest Manor.
    She was born April 5, 1906, in Johnstown, daughter of the late
  William and Elizabeth (Makepeace) Davies.
    She was preceded in death by husband, Norman R.; brother, John R.;
  and sisters, Gladys and Naomi.
    She is survived by brother, Glyndur J., married to former Maletha
  Harker, Lorain, Ohio; and nieces, Catherine, wife of Rudolph Bertie,
  Rockwood RD 3; and Elsie Brougher, Somerset; also several other
  nieces and nephews.
    She was a member of Church of God, Messenger Street.
    Friends were received at The Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc.,
  where services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, the Revs. John F. Crisco
  and William O. Trentini officiating.
    Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery.
