Shaffer, 85, Somerset, died Aug. 9, 1990, in Somerset Hospital. Born April 26, 1905, in Somerset Township, daughter of the late Daniel B. Blough, and Lucinda (Mock). Preceded in death by husband, John Richard; brother, David, and sister, Hazel Blough. Survived by daughters: Mrs. W. Griffin (Delores) Roberts, Marietta, Ga.; Mrs. James E. (Norma) Doyle, Pittsburgh; sons: Richard B., Hanover, Ind.; Clair A., East Dubuque, Ill.; sisters: Mrs. Helen Lehman, Davidsville; Mrs. Gladys Brubaker, Somerset; Miss. Ethel Blough, Pom Bay, Fla.; and brothers: Daniel B., Charleston, S.C.; A.F., San Marcos, Calif.; J. Warren, Melbourne, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Member of Geiger Church of the Brethren. Retired teacher for Somerset Area Schools. Active with Meals on Wheels, Somerset Hospital Auxiliary, and Senior Citizens Organization. Trustee of Geiger Community Center. Friends will be received from 7-9 Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Geiger Church of the Brethren, Rev. Gerald Deffenbaugh officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. No viewing at the church.
