SHAFFER Nellie Mae Shaffer, 80, of Second Ave., Hyndman, died Saturday, July 16, 1988 in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born in Londonderry Township, Jan. 22, 1908, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Lucinda (Minnick) Bruck. Her husband, Claude B. Shaffer, preceded her in death in 1963. She was a member of Hyndman First United Methodist Church, Anne Horner Bible Class and United Methodist Women and of Ladies Auxiliary to the Hyndman Volunteer Fire Company. Surviving are seven sons, Earl B. Shaffer, Steve C. Shaffer, both of Hyndman RD 1; Claude H. Shaffer, John Shaffer, Douglas Shaffer, Paul R. Shaffer and Glenn E. Shaffer, all of Hyndman; five daughters, Mrs. Nona Lee Atwood, Mrs. Wanda Bistline, Mrs. Joyce Pensyl, all of Hyndman; Mrs. Betty Ours, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Maude Johnston, Dunn, N.C.; two brothers, Henry Bruck, Hyndman; Clarence Bruck, Painesville, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Ida Kreigline, Mrs. Maude Temke, both of Hyndman; Mrs. Florence Diehl, North Versailies; Mrs. Dorothy Diehl, North Huntingdon, 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home. Services were conducted at Hyndman First United Methodist Church Wednesday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Joseph R. Stains. Interment, Hyndman Cemetery. Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Glenn Ours, Robert Shaffer, Michael Shaffer, David Johnston, Andy Shaffer, Richard Bistline and Matthew Pensyl.
