He was born June 8, 1921, in Windber the son of the late Garfield and Lillie (Parson) Shaffer. Also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah. Survived by wife, the former Florence Barnes, and these children: Ronald of Havre De Grace, Md.; Terry W. of Aberdeen, Md.; Mrs. Michael (Loraine) Fox of Canal Fulton, Ohio; Kenyon of Oakland, Md.; Mrs. Eugene (Robin) Soha of Jenners; and Oliver of Somerset; also 10 grandchildren. A brother of Mrs. Lewis (Minnie) Huth of Canton, Ohio; Mrs. Joseph (Mayme) Natta of Windber; Lester of Somerset RD 3; Ethel Mock and Bertha Hersh, both of Johnstown; David of Florida; Mrs. William (Ann) Findley of Mineral Point; Raymond of Long Island, N.Y.; Roy of New York; Mrs. Eugene (Audrey) Shaffer of Central City; and Dorothy Swope of Farrell. Veteran of World War II. Member of Local 527, Ornamental Bridge and Iron Workers. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday (today) at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home where services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. William Mulford officiating. Interment, Husband Cemetery.
