  SHAFFER
  
  Robert R. Shaffer, 77, Boswell RD 1, died at his residence Sept. 25,
  1986.  Born Dec. 28, 1908, in Conemaugh Township, son of Henry A. and
  Lucy A. (Hershberger) Shaffer.  Preceded in death by parents, three
  sisters, four brothers and first wife, the former Beulah Lehman, who
  died Sept. 12, 1975.  Survived by wife, the former Katie E. Thomas;
  and these children:  John H., married to the former Jane Perry,
  Falling Water, W.Va.; Dorothy K., wife of Donald Schmucker,
  Philadelphia; and Loretta E., wife of Daniel Showalter, Waynesboro,
  Va.; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.  Brother of: 
  Myrtle Lawson of Michigan; James of Johnstown; Cyrus of Ohio; Grace
  Allgrim, Michigan.  He was a member of Thomas Mennonite Church. 
  Retired from Lehman Plumbing and Heating.  Death breaks marriage
  union of five years.  Family receiving friends 7-9 p.m. Friday and
  2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home,
  Davidsville.  Services 2 p.m. Sunday at Thomas Mennonite Church,
  where remains will lie in state from 1:30 p.m. until time of service,
  the Rev. Donald Speigle, the Rev. Aldus Wingard and the Rev. Norman
  Moyer.  Interment, church cemetery.
