  SHAFFER
  
  Ruth L. (Speicher) Shaffer, 103, Presbyterian Home, Johnstown,
  formerly of Boswell RD, died Oct. 11, 2003 at the home.  Born June
  19, 1900 in Jenner Township, daughter of John J. and Mary C. (Lohr)
  Speicher.  Preceded in death by parents, husband, Lester, infant son,
  Harold, grandsons, John, Michael, Glenn and Craig Shaffer, five
  sisters and four brothers.  Survived by these children:  Stella,
  married to Paul Edmiston, Boswell RD, John, married to the former
  Patsy Hay, Jerome, Zane, married to the former Barbara Joye,
  Stafford, Va., Lester, married to the former Mary Lawrence, Miami,
  Fla., and Clair, married to the former Pat Miller, Listie; numerous
  grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one
  great-great-granddaughter.  Also survived by numerous nieces and
  nephews.  She was a member of the former Mount Zion Lutheran
  Church.  Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the
  Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell.  Friends also
  received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at
  Thomas Mennonite Church, Thomas Mills.  The Rev. D. Wayne Lasure
  officiating.  Interment Thomas Mennonite Cemetery.
